Add page numbers to any PDF in any corner, in your chosen format and colour.

Upload a PDF, pick where the page numbers go, choose the format (just the number, Page 1, 1 / 12, or Page 1 of 12), and download a numbered PDF. Skip cover pages, start from any number, and match your document's style.

How it works

  1. Upload your PDF and choose where you want the page numbers to appear.
  2. Pick the format, starting page, and starting number. Tweak the font size and colour.
  3. Process and download the numbered PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Can I skip the cover page?

Yes. Set Start at page to 2 (or any later page) and only the chosen page onwards will be numbered. Earlier pages are left untouched.

Can I start numbering from a number other than 1?

Yes. Set Starting number to whatever you like. Useful when you are appending pages to a larger document and need the numbers to follow on.

Where on the page do the numbers go?

You choose from six positions: top left, top centre, top right, bottom left, bottom centre, or bottom right. The live preview shows exactly where the number will land.

Will it work on scanned PDFs?

Yes. The numbers are drawn as a new text layer on top of each page, so scanned or image-based PDFs are numbered the same way as text-based ones.

Is there a file size limit?

Files up to 50 MB are supported. That fits most multi-hundred-page PDFs.
