Frequently asked questions
How much text can I encode?
QRs support up to a few thousand characters in theory, but the more text you add, the denser the QR becomes. For reliable scanning, keep it under 300 characters.
Will the scanner open a browser?
No. Plain-text QRs show the text inside the scanner app and offer a copy action. Use the URL type instead if you want the scanner to open a link.
Can I include special characters?
Yes. UTF-8 is supported, so emoji, accents, and non-Latin characters all work.
Does it track scans?
No. The text is encoded directly. There is no redirect, no analytics, and no tracking.
